BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (Oct. 23, 2012)—The new DeFuniak Springs, Fla., Tractor Supply Company store will hold its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 27, with specially priced merchandise Oct. 25–28, according to Store Manager Mindy Carroll. The store officially opened for business Oct. 19.
The DeFuniak Springs location is Tractor Supply Company’s 43rd store in Florida and employs 10 team members. The facility has 21,194 square feet, including sales floor and support service space.
Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States and has been operating in Florida since 2000.
“DeFuniak Springs is a great location for Tractor Supply Company because the community supports the lifestyle of Tractor Supply,” said Carroll. “Our products cater to the numerous DIY farmers, cattle, horse and dog owners in the area. Our social, hard–working team members were born and raised here and have backgrounds in farming and raising horse and cattle. We want to be our neighbor’s one–stop shop for everything they need. You’ll be surprised what you’ll find at our store.”
Carroll joined Tractor Supply three years ago as an assistant store manager at the Crestview location. She was promoted to store manager in 2011 and later opened the Monroeville, Ala., store. Prior to joining Tractor Supply, she worked for Auto Zone for 10 years. The northern California native lived in Washington for a period of time working on a farm where her father was the ranch foreman. Carroll enjoys fishing and riding her motorcycle in her spare time.
As store manager, Carroll oversees all store operations, including receiving, inventory control and merchandising, as well as customer and team member relations.
To celebrate the grand opening of the store, shoppers will receive 10 percent off their first purchase, up to $100, from Oct. 25–28, and can enter to win prizes including store gift cards, pet feed, clothing, power tools, a lawn tractor and a chain saw. Free Tractor Supply Company baseball–style hats will also be given away while supplies last.
On Saturday, the grand opening event will feature a live radio remote, representatives from the local FFA and 4–H groups and hay bales. The store will also host a ribbon cutting ceremony with the local Chamber of Commerce at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Regular operating hours for the store, located in the former Wal–Mart space at 931 U.S. Highway 331 South, Suite C, are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
