NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 15, 2012)—Organizations and individuals interested in participating in the 60th Annual Piedmont Natural Gas Nashville Christmas Parade must apply for entry by Monday, Oct. 22. Applicants may apply for a spot as a float, band or element in this year’s parade, which takes place on Friday, Dec. 7 in Downtown Nashville. The application for parade entry can be found at www.NashvilleChristmasParade.com.

The theme of this year’s parade is “A Christmas Salute,” and it pays tribute to, not just the military, but everyone who serves their friends and neighbors for the greater good of our community. Parade entries must adhere to the official theme, as well as the full list of parade guideline listed on the parade website. Please direct parade questions to Sherry Perry at 615-872-2305.

In addition to the parade application, applicants must submit a design and description of their float or element accompanied by the $100 application fee. All proceeds from the parade will benefit Piedmont’s Share the Warmth program, which assists local low-income families who need help paying energy bills at any point during the year, regardless of their energy source. Since 2003, Piedmont Natural Gas and its customers, along with the Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation, have donated more than $1.5 million to Share the Warmth energy assistance funds.
