BRENTWOOD, Tenn., (Oct. 30, 2012)—Corizon, the nation’s leader in correctional healthcare solutions, has been awarded a renewal of its healthcare contract with the Alabama Department of Corrections. The agreement is for three years, with two one-year renewal opportunities. Corizon and its predecessor companies have held the contract since 2003.

The new contract will begin December 1, 2012, and allows Corizon to provide comprehensive medical care to more than 25,000 inmates at correctional facilities throughout the state of Alabama.
Among other services, Corizon’s team will perform a wide variety of on– and off–site functions, including medical, dental, pharmaceutical, diagnostic and chronic care, as well as administrative, staffing and management services.
