BRENTWOOD, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2012)—The new Bath, N.Y., Tractor Supply Company store will hold its grand opening on Saturday, Oct. 20, with specially priced merchandise Oct. 18-21, according to Store Manager Laurie Spires. The store officially opened for business Oct. 13.
The Bath location is Tractor Supply Company’s 68th store in New York and employs 12 team members. The facility has 25,262 square feet, including sales floor and support service space.
Tractor Supply Company is the largest retail farm and ranch supply store chain in the United States and has been operating in New York since 1986.
“Bath is a great location for Tractor Supply Company because there is a lot of farmland in the area with a rural customer base that knows our products,” said Spires. “We supply a little bit of everything for everyone. We are here to help and provide the legendary Tractor Supply customer service to our neighbors.”
Spires joined Tractor Supply in 2003 as an assistant store manager at the Horseheads location. She spent four years there before opening both the Warren, Pa., and Dansville locations. Prior to joining Tractor Supply, she spent five years working for Central Tractor. The Bath native graduated from Bath Haverling Central High School and received her Social Sciences degree from Corning Community College. Spires enjoys playing the guitar and riding her mountain bike in her spare time.
As store manager, Spires oversees all store operations, including receiving, inventory control and merchandising, as well as customer and team member relations.
To celebrate the grand opening of the store, shoppers will receive 10 percent off their first purchase, up to $100, from Oct. 18-21, and can enter to win prizes including store gift cards, pet feed, clothing, power tools, a log splitter and a chain saw. Free Tractor Supply Company baseball-style hats will also be given away while supplies last.
On Saturday, the grand opening event will feature the local 4-H group with information and hamburgers and hot dogs for customers, the local SPCA with animals available to adopt and a petting zoo.
Regular operating hours for the store, located at 404 West Morris St., are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
