The Tiger Woods Foundation is a non-profit organization created by Earl and Tiger Woods that provides educational opportunities and training to teenagers through the Tiger Woods Learning Center in Anaheim, California, as well as providing scholarships to youth nationwide.
DVL helped coordinate the media announcement and media awareness campaign for Tiger’s “Fist Pump Challenge.” Tiger is well known for his signature fist pump celebrating a great shot on the golf course. Through this initiative, he took the fist pump to a new level, by challenging young people across the country to share their greatest achievement – their fist pump moment. DVL’s responsibilities included assisting with the news conference at the Tiger Woods Learning Center, identifying and researching 10 targeted media markets nationwide, distributing news releases and following up with journalists. The challenge runs from February – December 2008.
results: The Fist Pump Challenge is still going strong. Three winners are chosen monthly from across the country, spreading the word about the Foundation and Tiger’s vision and commitment to helping young people reach their full potential.
