DVL developed creative and provided production services for the campaign’s print and television programs. In the weeks before the vote, DVL staff also campaigned door-to-door in key neighborhoods.
results: The goal was to defeat the referendum by a margin of nine points, based on an anticipated 51 percent voter turnout. In the end, the actual voter turnout was only 47 percent, but Kentucky American Water defeated the referendum 61 percent to 39 percent – a 22-point margin.
