Red Shoe Party Raises Funds for Children in Need

For the past four years, DVL has donated its services to raise awareness for the Metro Nashville and Davidson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), an organization that trains community volunteers to act as advocates on behalf of abused or neglected children in juvenile court. DVL’s primary role is to generate media attention and to design and produce the invitation and iMail for CASA’s annual fundraiser, The Red Shoe Party.
CASA’s party theme is based on Dorothy’s (“The Wizard of Oz”) ruby slippers and her famous line, “There’s no place like home.” Like Dorothy and her friends on the yellow brick road, CASA volunteers help children navigate the twists and turns of the child welfare and judicial systems. DVL works closely with CASA to communicate the party’s number one goal: making a difference in the lives of local children.
results: More than 275 people attended the party, generating more than $70,000 for CASA. Surveys after the event showed that the invitation and iMail were considered creative pieces that motivated invitees to attend the party. DVL has been asked to manage media relations and create invitations for the coming year’s event.
